Questions to ask after your first month in a gym
Review the coaching, timetable and practical experience before choosing your next membership step.
Look at the experience you actually had
After an introduction or trial, you have better information than you did before joining. Think about whether you understood the programme, felt able to ask questions and could attend the available sessions. Separate a service issue from a temporary scheduling problem so the conversation can address the right thing. Confirm any ongoing arrangement explicitly rather than assuming the trial and membership have identical terms.
A practical checklist
- Ask what would continue and what would change.
- Check current inclusions and billing arrangements.
- Discuss unanswered questions from the trial.
- Agree a realistic next schedule.
Put it into practice
Bring one thing that worked well and one thing you would like clarified to the review. That produces a more useful conversation than a simple yes-or-no judgement. Decide based on the fit between the service, your priorities and your practical week.
