Clear membership names make gym software easier
Reduce booking and billing confusion by naming membership products around what members can actually use.
A product name is part of the interface
If staff call a membership one thing and the booking screen calls it another, members have to guess. Use a small set of understandable names and keep the entitlement description close to each product. Avoid putting every condition into the title; the title helps recognition, while the description explains included sessions and restrictions. When changing names, check reports and existing members as well as the public pricing page.
A practical checklist
- Use consistent names across the website, app and staff records.
- State session allowances and renewal periods clearly.
- Distinguish a drop-in pass from an ongoing membership.
- Archive obsolete products without breaking historical records.
Put it into practice
Show the membership choices to someone who has not helped configure them. Ask which option they would use to book twice a week and why. Their explanation is a useful test of whether the labels convey what you intended.
