Choosing programming software for a coaching team
Evaluate how a programme is written, assigned, delivered and reviewed before choosing coaching software.
Follow a programme through its whole life
A good editor is only the beginning. A plan may be shared across a group, adjusted for an individual and delivered by a covering coach. Members then need to understand it on a phone while training. Ask how the software represents a reusable template versus an assigned programme. If editing one unexpectedly changes the other, staff need to know that before making a live adjustment. Version behaviour is more useful to understand than the number of exercise-library entries.
A practical checklist
- Build a short programme using your normal naming and coaching style.
- Assign it to a test group and make one individual adjustment.
- Preview the result as a member on a small phone.
- Check what the next coach sees and where completed work is recorded.
Put it into practice
Use a two-week example with one repeated workout and one changed session. Ask Wolfpack to demonstrate saving, publishing and reviewing that example. Record any steps that need explanation, then decide whether those steps are acceptable for the staff who will use the system daily.
